** Into Navarette and Najerra and Santo Domingo de la Calzada **

Dear God these are some terrific memories!  Each of these towns was really special.  There is also a piece of video that I can't quite figure out how to attach...but when I do...Spence, Hats off to you my friend!
Jean-Louis & Genvieve as they rapidly head off to Logrono! They began in Le Puy, and we saw each other nearly daily till Santiago!
This is what happens when you arrive before the Alburgue opens!  The arch in the background is the Alburgue, and so...there we sat, our packs lined up at the door, us comfortably ensconced...started with Cafe con Leche, ending in beers or shandy's!!  Nice way to spend an early afternoon!
Navarrette was full of surprises! .
Sometimes the ancient buildings need a little help.  Dinner was actually to be had in this tired look passage way!  In fact a very good dinner at a very nice hotel with one of her entrances in this passage.
Love this one, cause it shows the cars...yes folks, these are streets not sidewalks!
Walking by moonlight.
I found one last look back in the early dawn to be worth it so very many times.
Ciruena aka the Ghost Town on the Camino.  Guess the housing bust hit here too!

These aren't even finished.  We were all very seriously creeped out by it, and were happy to shake the dust of it from our feet.  Onwards  to Najera!
Fashion on the Camino, my way! Thin Injinji socks with one of my older REI wool socks with the toe area cut off.  This allowed for toe wiggle room and at this point reduced heel friction...which is why I also had the powder out and was adding another light dusting.  Surprised Spence didn't faint when I took the shoe off!

And this is Spencer...one of the kindest, gentlest gentlemen I ever had the pleasure of walking a week with!  'Cept he made me laugh so much I had perpetual stomach aches!

This was one of the sweetest things, a quilt made by some of the local ladies reading: Pilgrim when you are in Najera, you are Najerino., one of us!  Apparently no one in Najera uses toilet seats, as this was one of a few where none of the toilets had seats!
Spencer, playing with a small boy in the Plaza Mayor.
On the outskirts of Najera, on the way to Azofra at around 6:20 am.
This climb was rough, first thing in the morning, but again a glance back made every difficult step worth it...totally worth it!
