** Zubiri to Pamplona **

See the Pilgrim, see the genuine Pilgrim...or in German, Echte Pilger!!  Otherwise known to us as Peter from NYC!

Bridge into Villava.  The building at the other side is the Municipal or Paroquial Alburgue.

In the north of Spain, life is everywhere.

Pilgrim bliss...feet up shoes off....
A cold beer and something good to eat.  This "bar" food was the very best I had the entire time!  Omelettes with different flavors stacked with flavored mayo and cheese...to die for! This was also in the Plaza Mayor in Villava.

Oh..just another random abandoned building look beautiful up on the hill.

I should have made this a video...the wind blowing across the wheat was so beautiful!

Obligatory pic of pilgs heading westward!

Entering Pamplona, these houses were covered with scallop shell decorations.  Saw very few of these on the Camino Frances, a lot of them on the Camino Portuguese.

Yes...you may drool!  I simply pointed and ate about three different things..they were all fabulous! This was dinner in Pamplona.

Pamplona has some seriously narrow streets and tall homes!
The details on the houses really blew me away...look at the roofline!

Such a benign looking building...so bland....

And then you go in side and here I am laying in bed...looking up!

This has to qualify as the grandest dormitory ever!  Also the single greatest sleeping concert hall, as it allowed snorers on two different floors to combine in their efforts to keep the rest of us awake!

Heading out and onward....towards the dreaded Alto de Perdon!
That ridge ahead...yup .. you guessed it, we gotta go over!
Halfway up, or maybe a bit more.  An abandoned farm house or barn.  Pampalona itself is in the far right distance.
Finally, the top of the ridge is in view.

  1. You might have had rain for the Pyrenees, but what a gorgeous day for the Alto del Perdon! Absolutely love your shadow photo with you both standing so casually! Lovely photos Karin!
